Citroen C3: Engine and Safety Features
Citroen has introduced two petrol engines for the C3 hatchback in India: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine that delivers 82PS/115Nm and a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit that generates 110PS/190Nm. The former comes with a five-speed manual transmission and has a fuel efficiency of 19.8kmpl, while the latter is paired with a six-speed manual and offers 19.4kmpl. Currently, the C3 does not offer a diesel engine or an automatic transmission, and the turbo variants may come with the idle engine start/stop feature.
The Citroen C3 has various features, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a height-adjustable driver seat, day/night IRVM, and a four-speaker sound system. Other amenities include a digitised instrument cluster, fog lamps, electrically adjustable ORVMs and steering-mounted audio controls.
In terms of safety, the Citroen C3 offers dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front seat belt reminders, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors. The top-spec turbo variants are expected to feature electronic stability programme (ESP) and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The Citroen C3 competes with the Maruti Wagon R, Celerio and Tata Tiago. It also rivals the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger due to its dimensions, as well as the Hyundai Exter.
